Get Up & Go! Mini Golf & Ice Cream

Mini golf and ice cream are two staples of summer. Those living in Massachusetts are lucky enough to be able to combine these pastimes–it is hard to find a mini golf course without a location for a tempting frozen treat nearby. But if you are not searching for a hole-in-one before your dessert, there are plenty of locations worth visiting for the ice cream alone.

Get out and enjoy what’s left of the beautiful summer nights, whether that involves perfecting a putting stance or trying not to drip from a two-scoop sugar cone. Don’t forget to share your pictures with us on Facebook and Instagram! Use the guide below to discover some of the best mini golf and ice cream joints in your area.

Mini Golf
  • Route 1 Mini Golf & Batting Cage, 1575 Broadway, Saugus – Ever see the oversized orange dinosaur hanging out on Route 1?!  This is his home!  Visit their website for special offers and discounts before you leave!
  • Castle Creek Adventure, 100 Swampscott Rd, Danvers –  Fun course with electric go karts available.  Stop by for a delicious Richardsons ice cream when your round is complete!
  • Monster Mini Golf (Indoors), 10 Newbury St., Danvers  – Don’t let the rain stop you from enjoying a round of mini golf!  This indoor facility is full of frights and sites – definitely geared towards ages 5 and up – unless your toddler is super tough!
  • Paradise Family Golf, 25 Longergan Rd., Middleton – Creative, affordable course that offers a prize if you sink your put on the 18th hole!  We all love some incentive!

Ice Cream
  • Soc’s, 67 Lynn Fells Pkwy, Saugus, MA – Forget the wall of soft serve Froyo machines, Soc’s makes their frozen yogurt from scratch!  Summer nights bring long lines so plan your visit accordingly!
  • Richardsons Dairy Fresh Ice Cream, 1 S Main St., Middleton – Richardson’s is a North Shore staple!  Great selection of delicious flavors – be sure to walk around back to check out their cows, chickens and goats grazing in the pasture!

  • Treadwell’s, 46 Margin St., Peabody – Treadwell’s is known for its enormous portions, so keep that in mind when ordering!  Regulars keep coming because of the tasty ice cream and friendly owners!
  • Kell’s Kreme, 437 Revere Beach, Blvd, Revere – If you’re feeling adventurous, be sure to try the brownie sundae or the banana bucket – they do not disappoint!  These sundaes along with most items on the menu are large – so you may want to get an extra spoon!
